International athletes and families join Riga Rogaining
In the first days of registration, more than 300 participants from 5 countries - Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland and Russia - applied to participate in rogaining.

This month, on November 29, “Rīgas rogainings 2014” will be held for the first time - an orienteering competition in teams, where both families with children, company teams, and teams of friends and colleagues are invited to apply. time limits of two, four and six hours will be suitable for participants of different preparation.
Riga Rogaining participant Lauma Čerņevska once said about the orienteering competition: "No compass, no problem!". However, this month she will also take part in the Riga Rogaining competition: "When the active running and cycling season is over, I finally allowed myself to be persuaded to try and participate in rogaining, which friends around me talk about so enthusiastically." In addition to 30 foreign participants - families with children and experienced athletes - more than 300 participants from Riga and other parts of Latvia applied in a few days, which indicates the great interest in this sport.
The competition will be a great opportunity for those who have not yet participated in rogaining to try the exciting sport. Successful completion of the distance will require the ability to navigate by map, strategically plan the route, as well as the ability to physically overcome the distance, which will take the participants through the nearest forests, the city and other interesting places.
The start of the competition will be given on Saturday at 12:00 at “Alfa" shopping center. You can register for Riga Rogaining on the website of the competition www.rigasrogainings.lv until November 27, but the cheapest application will end on November 23.
Riga Rogaining is an orienteering sports team competition, where teams of 2-5 people move in the forest and in the city - on the streets - and during a certain period of time visit checkpoints located in the area in a freely chosen order, which are assigned certain values, trying to collect as many points as possible in the specified time.Rogaining is an increasingly popular orienteering sport and in 2017 the 15th Rogaining World Championship will be held in Latvia.
