On Saturday, July 6, the Great Riga xRace adventure was held at the Ethnographic Museum of Latvia. During orientation, the participants had to visit as many checkpoints as possible in different distances – 6h Garmin, 4h – Isostar or 2h – Laima Better4U distance. This time the area was a little more wooded than usual, because the competition center was located at the border of Riga with Bergi and Garkalni.

The special feature of the competition was that the participants had to complete the final part of the distance already in the dark, which makes the competition more interesting and at the same time a little more complicated. Many participants admitted that orientation in the forest caused additional difficulties, which often increased the time spent in the distance.

In the longest and most difficult Garmin 6h distance, the winning team won the laurels - "Laid mus tur laime die", in which - Zigmunds Bībers and Alberts Jasāns started. On the other hand, the team “Naids” with Edgaru Jurjānu and Mārtiņu Krūzi took second place. Third place was taken by the neighboring Lithuanian team “Baltu lokys”. In the women's competition, the fastest team was “Piedzīvojumu meklējot”.

In the Isostar 4h distance, only one team collected 150 points - the winners "VVAL", leaving behind the teams “SPAMMA OK” and “Maldugunij pa pēdām”, who took the third place. The fastest of the women's teams was “Bon vojage”.

Team “Policija” convincingly won the shortest, 2h distance for men with 95 points, leaving behind teams “Ekstrēmā vegānu sekta” (76 points) and “PE PEEK” (55 points) in second and third place. Team “IN OMNIA PARATUS” was the fastest in the family class.

“O-Run” won the first place in the men's rogaining race - Andrejs Grigoļunovičs. On the other hand, Ingrīda Zaķe stood out in the women's competition.

The next stage of rogaining will take place in Valmiera on August 24.

The competition is offered by Riga City Council, supported by Isostar, Garmin, Laima Better4U
