Riga Rogaining invites children on a free Rogaining Walk
On March 21, the second Riga Rogaining will be held in Riga - an orienteering competition, where teams of 2 to 5 participants move in the forest and the city and visit checkpoints assigned certain values, thus trying to collect as many points as possible. Last year, more than 750 Riga residents, domestic guests, as well as foreign participants took part in the competition.

This year, the competition will take place for the second time, and the organizers of Riga Rogaining will give children a free Rogaining walk accompanied by an instructor, who will take the children through the rogaining competition area and checkpoints both in the forest and in the city in 2 hours. On the way, children will be able to warm themselves with warm tea, and at the finish line - treat themselves to lunch. Children up to the age of 12 can be registered for the Rogaining walk by sending the child's name, surname and age to the e-mail address xrace@xrace.lv until March 15.
In the meantime, parents of children can use the opportunity to participate in rogaining competitions in one of the distances - 2 hours, 4 hours or 6 hours long. The cheapest participation fee for the competition is available until March 8, but it is possible to register for the competition up to and including March 19 by filling out the registration form on the competition website www.rigasrogainings.lv.
In last year's competition, families with small children and also babies showed great response. Among the participants were also birthday celebrants, who took the opportunity to turn the interesting event into a birthday party, and in a fun atmosphere beat the 2-hour rogaining, enjoying their birthday pretzel at the finish.
Riga Rogaining is an orienteering sports competition, where teams of 2 to 5 participants move in the forest and in the city - on the streets - and during a certain period of time visit checkpoints located in the area in a freely chosen order, which are assigned certain values, trying to collect as many points as possible in the specified time. At the same time, Riga Rogaining will be the first stage of the Latvian Rogaining Cup. Rogaining is an orienteering sport that is gaining more and more popularity in Latvia, and in 2017, the 15th Rogaining World Championship will be held in Latvia.
The competition is offered by the Riga City Council and the Education, Culture and Sports Department of the Riga City Council. Organized by xRace in cooperation with the Latvian Orienteering Federation and "O!Latvija".
