Riga Spring Rogaining invites trail runners to Mežaparks
On Sunday, March 26, the sixth Riga Rogaining will take place in Mežapark, which this year especially invites runners to apply for the new distance - the 7-kilometer individual trail race in Mežapark. The trail run will run parallel to the other rogaining distances - free children's walk, 2, 4 and 6 hour rogainings.

The area of the spring rogaining map will include the districts of Mežapark, Čiekurkalns, Sarkandaugava, Skanstes, as well as the territories of Mīlgrāvja and Vecmīlgrāvja. The territory of Riga spring rogaining will be diverse. If larger or smaller planes were in the sights of the participants in the Riga autumn rogaining, then this spring rogaining will give the opportunity to meet the ships entering the Riga Freeport, which will open to the view from the Vecmīlgrāvja bridge, running over the once historic Dūņupi - now Mīlgrāvi.
The start of the competition will be given on the territory of Mežapark's old hippodrome at Meža prospekt 5, where there is currently a paid parking lot for Mežapark's visitors. On the day of the competition, participants will be able to park their cars at the competition center for a cheaper fee - 2 EUR. The competition will start at two times - at At 11:00, the 6- and 4-hour teams will start the distance, but at 12:00 – trail run participants, free children's walks and 2-hour rogaining teams.
Each time, the competition gathers more than a thousand domestic and foreign orienteering enthusiasts who participate in 2, 4 or 6 hour distances, but this time the group of participants will also be joined by participants of the 7 kilometer trail run. The three-time winners of the Riga Rogaining 6-hour distance Andris Ronimoiss and Zigmunds Bībers have already applied for participation in the competition, and this year several strong men's teams will compete with them.
Participation in the Rogaining distances takes place in teams of 2 to 4 participants, where friends, families, company teams, as well as representatives of orienteers, runners and other sports come together, but everyone is invited to participate individually in the 7-kilometer trail race.
