The third season of the popular international rogaining series “Pilsētu leģendas” started in March
at the end in Bolderāja, the second stage took place in April in Daugmale, Ķekava county, but now
after three months it reached the equator, as the third of this year was held in Valmiera
of the six rounds in total. Rogaining took place in Valmiera for the fourth consecutive year.
Just a week ago, the Latvian championship in 24h rogaining took place in Rēzekne, that's why
Some of the leaders did not start in Valmiera.
The organizers offered participants 6 hours Garmin, 4 hours according to their abilities and wishes
Kokmuiža and 2h D8 Corporation distances, as well as 3h MTB, Isostar rogaining
2h run (O-Run) and rogaining walk for children. There was a start and a finish
In Valmiermuiža park, next to the well-known Valmiermuiža brewery.
In the Garmin 6h distance, Edgars and Inese Kokoreviči (VSK Burkānciems&Co) collected 173
points, but an overrun of 23 seconds over the time limit forced them to split by one
point, thus ending up with 172 points, which was the same as Mārtiņam Krūzem and
Edgaram Jurjānam (Hatred), who also deserved the victory not only in men's teams
in the test, but also in the overall ranking, because they had spent less time on the distance than
Valmierians. Therefore, after two third places in Riga and Daugmalē Krūze and Jurjāns
won first place. On the other hand, for the brother and sister Kokorēvičs, who lived in Valmiera last year
together with Rolandu Rudīti won the 4h distance, this time the second best result
in the overall standings, but first place for Mix or mixed teams. Also in the fight for third place
two teams accumulated the same number of points (167), but the one spent the least distance
time allowed the competitors from Estonia to leave the fourth place and the third place to Marci
For the subtle and Didzim Raitam from team “Es neatceros”. The fifteenth result with
147 points showed Kristīne Kadaša and Gunta Brazauska (Amber in hair), which
for the second stage in a row, the best women's team, but the only ones in the family category
over 100 points (123) was scored by “RS kukainīši” represented by Juris Šlesers with
daughter Eliza.
D8 Corporation also earned two of the top thirty teams in the 2h distance
the same number of points (63 points), but the one spent 18 seconds less in the distance alone
time allowed Uldim Cīrulim and Mārtiņam Treijam (Dust Eaters) to prevail over
Aigaru Šuvcānu and Kasparu Kaupi (Lat Met). Madara Apsalone started together this time
with Aleksandru Fjodorovu (Amps and collected as many as 64 points, but spent four
minutes rounded their points bag to 60, which was the third best result overall
in the test and the best in the women's competition, thus having to settle for second place
to the winners of the first two stages Anetei Rožkalnei and Valentīnai Romanovai. The fourth
the result (57 points) was shown by Kārlis and Daina Stonkas, who were the best in the mixed
in the team competition, but the richest harvest of points in the family team with 49 points
met “Briežiem” (Raitis and Dita Brieži, Inga Dukure).
In the Kokmuižas 4h distance, where 60 teams competed, in contrast to the above-mentioned two
for distances, the top three were far apart in terms of points. A convincing victory with
140 points for Armandam Brokam and Mārim Heinolam (Exvalcenians), for 15
points ahead of Mārtiņu Ozoliņu and Valdi Čunku (Riga Adventure team).
Mārtiņš and Niklāvs Dravanti took third place with 110 points, two
collecting more points than the leader of the mixed teams "K.A.S." (Kristaps Ceriname,
Ainārs Drozds, Santa Bērziņa). In the women's competition, Vija Elstiņa stood out with 91 points
and Laura Bušunova from “RogVila”, but Both good” (Aldis Lapiňš, Adrians Moruzs) with 77
won the family competition by points.
As always, individual competitions were also held in parallel - three-hour cycling orienteering and
in a two-hour rogaining run. 3h MTB distance for men was new again
the winner was Raitim Muižniekam who scored 166 points and
five ahead of Eduardu Rēnu, but in a fierce battle for third place despite
driving the last few kilometers with a flat front tire, Alēns Jukšinskis (153
points) was one point ahead of Artūru Verzu. For women, for the second time in a row
in honor of the winner Inese Kauķe (129 points), leaving behind Anniju Krūmu and Anda
Oak tree. In the Isostar 2h rogaining race, she did not make a mistake for the second stage in a row and was the best
also in the absolute rating was Elīna Petrovska (73 points), followed in the long pieces
feeling better Rīga-Valmiera 107km distance record holder Pēteris Grīviņš (68 points),
who didn't do so well this time with finding some checkpoints. The first stage
winners Anita Užule and Jānis Dūka each took second place for the second stage in a row.
